Avebury

  • Avebury Henge and stone circle form one of the marvels of prehistoric Britain, and form part of an extraordinary set of Neolithic and Bronze Age ceremonial sites that  stretch to Stonehenge.  Unlike Stonehenge, visitors can walk right up to and around the stones.  Additionally the West Kennet Longbarrow (Britain’s largest and most accessible Neolithic chambered tomb) and the nearby mysterious Silbury Hill make Avebury well worth a visit.
  • Also in Avebury – don’t miss the Alexander Keiller Museum and Avebury Manor and Garden
