Bob and Liz warmly welcome you to Lorne House.
Set in the beautiful Wiltshire village of Box, Lorne House is a stylish, sophisticated Bed & Breakfast with an elegant charm and a friendly welcome. Located only five miles from the fabulous city of Bath, Lorne House is the ideal base to explore the city and its surrounding countryside, and is a wonderful place to enjoy a relaxing break or pleasant business trip.
Lorne House was built in 1876, extended in 1902 and, between 1920–1928, was the childhood home of the Rev. W J Awdry, author of Thomas The Tank Engine.
We have a detailed knowledge of the area and can recommend local places of interest both in and around Bath, or in the wider area, such as the beautiful and historic villages of Lacock and Castle Combe. We are happy to make reservations for our guests at any of the excellent local pubs and restaurants whilst for a livelier evening, Bath is just a short distance away by car, bus or taxi.
